Abstract

This series contain photoprints, and negatives taken by Michael Peirce between 1970 and 1977, which primarily document “Evening at Pops” performances. Materials include photos, contact sheets, and negatives of guest artist performances, guest artists backstage with Arthur Fiedler, Pops Orchestra, special performances such as Old Timer’s Night, Holiday and New Year performances, and lastly the stage, hall, and recording set up.

Abstract

The Percy Paul Leveen papers contain the personal papers of Percy Paul Leveen, a violinst in the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1919 to 1944, as related to the BSO, including published books about the BSO, his personal recollections of the BSO in the form of unpublished manuscript drafts, correspondence relating to publication, publicity photographs of Leveen, and photographs of Koussevitzky and the BSO during the Koussevitzky years.

Scope and Contents This collection contains materials generated and collected by Patricia Crandall relating to the Casadesus Musical Instrument Collection at Symphony Hall. Materials include photographs, instrument appraisals, correspondence, printed programs, BSO tour scripts, and books.
